Dexter Baylor, better known as "Coach Dex", was born and raised in Calhoun Falls, SC. He graduated from Calhoun Falls High School in 2003 and continued his education as the quarterback at North Greenville University. He later graduated from ECPI College of Technology. He has four children- Alona, Jaden, Jaylen and Amar.
Dexter was a standout athlete whose name and accomplishments remain a relevant topic of discussion in Abbeville and its surrounding areas. He, therefore, brings a plethora of athletic accolades and experience to this organization. As a standout athlete, he was a 2x All Region player in football, basketball and baseball, an All State player in football and an All Lakelands team member in basketball. Additionally, he was named the Region 1A Player of the Year, the Lakelands Player of the Year and the Defensive Player of the Year. To add to these great accomplishments, Baylor coupled his athleticism with his outstanding academic achievements making him an amazing all-around role model for others in his community.
Baylor brings over 10 years of coaching experience including Abbeville Youth Association, Calhoun Falls Rec, Lakeland Stars, Calhoun Falls Charter School and currently, Wright Middle School. Although a former athlete from this very community, seeing athletics from a different perspective changed his outlook greatly and placed a desire within him to make an even bigger impact on the community leading to his decision to team up with Jamar Washington to enact their vision through the creation of County Line Elite.
"I wanted to create another outlet for kids to become better individuals, by growing developing not only sports, but also through education, art, music or anything else that could help them to become successful in all areas of their lives."
-Dexter
John Jamar Washington , known to the community as "Coach Weebo", was born and raised in Abbeville, SC. He graduated from Abbeville High School in 2005 and furthered his education at ITT Technical Institute. Washington is married to Denita Tucker Washington and they have 3 children-Isaiah (12), Brayden (9) and Jamar Jr. (4).
Coach Weebo had many notable accomplishments as a high school athlete and brought that expertise to the court on the other side of the bench. He began his coaching career with Abbeville Youth Association; however, it was through his coaching tenure with Lakeland Stars that his aspirations to continue to make an even greater impact on his community grew stronger. These years of gaining experience and building connections through his coaching beginnings, paved the way for him and Baylor to collaborate and combine their vision to create County Line Elite.
Although CLE is his first love and he continues to pour into it greatly, he also continues to grow his coaching skills. After his short-term coaching position at Northside Middle School, Washington moved into his current position as the JV Head Coach/Varsity Assistant Coach at Calhoun Falls Charter School where he has been an instrumental asset to the program and has already proven to be, as spoken by the community, a much-needed catalyst to help the program continue to successfully move forward.
"County Line Elite is so much more than sports. We understand that sports is the only way for some to make it out so we try to open their minds to other things outside of that to help them grow and develop."
-Weebo
